DeSean Jackson would give Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III a deep threat who could open up the passing game. Pierre Garcon led Washington with 1,346 receiving yards and five touchdowns, but receivers Josh Morgan and Leonard Hankerson did not have a significant impact. The addition of Jackson would be a positive addition for Washington's offense.
Of course, Washington has to be an appealing place for Jackson, too. Jackson could play against the Philadelphia Eagles twice a year, which means he could stick it to Kelly. Meanwhile, Griffin is a young quarterback with more talent than Oakland’s Matt Schaub or Buffalo’s EJ Manuel, the other two teams who have been identified as having strong interest in Jackson.
Jackson wore No. 10 with the Philadelphia Eagles and had said he would try to see if franchise player Robert Griffin III — the Redskins' current No. 10 — would be willing to switch. Griffin quickly nixed the idea.
And then DeSean Jackson wear #11 with the Redskins.
Jackson signed with Washington on April 2, less than a week after getting released by the Eagles. The Redskins started their workouts the following week, but Jackson went ahead with his vacation.
